A home water filtration system is an easy way to ensure that you're getting cleaner,
tastier tap water. Below, we've listed some other methods, both short term and long, that
you may want to implement to improve the quality of your water
- Flush your pipes. If
water hasn't been used in the last six hours, run water from the cold tap until it's at
its coldest. The longer water has been sitting in your home's pipes, the more lead it may
contain.
- Use cold water for
consumption. When drinking, cooking or making baby formula, use only cold tap water.
Hot water is likely to contain higher levels of lead.
- Have your water tested. A
list of laboratories certified by your state or the EPA should be available from your
local or state public health department.
- Get involved. Find out
what's in your tap water.
- Filter your drinking water.
Try one of our water purifiers to get clean drinking water at pennies per gallon.
