Information About PUR Filters And Purifiers

 |
Since we introduced
Pur filters in 1986, we have been
a leader in tackling some of the world's most difficult drinking water problems. Our
invention of the world's first, and still only, hand-operated desalinators has allowed
users to instantly turn seawater into fresh drinking water. The ingenuity and reliability
of our technology has met the rigorous demands of the U.S.A.'s and NATO's naval and air
forces, and today our desalinators are standard equipment on life rafts worldwide.
Then in 1990, after much hard work and research, we introduced
portable water purifiers for backpackers. This new line of outdoor purifiers made it
possible to drink microbiologically safe water anywhere in the world. This was great news
for travelers, but as we soon found out, there were still water problems to be solved in
our own backyard. In 1993, after the disastrous outbreak of cryptosporidium in Milwaukee,
we began developing high-performance water purifiers that could produce cleaner, healthier,
better-tasting water for homes. This lead to our line of Self-Monitoring Water Filters®
which now bring more than just better tasting water to residents - our
filtration systems produce
water you can trust again. And again.
Today our researchers and engineers are busy developing more products
that will conveniently and affordably improve the quality of our most important resource,
water.
